My work is NOT AN AUDIT. An auditor places content onto social media, and receives money each time an edvert is viewed, or, clicked on.
They usually turn up unannounced and hope for, or search out, an interaction. Some begin by filming or using a drone. Most use video cameras and drones.
Whilst not illegal, it can be a nuisance and is often unwanted. I provide information to help you manage these 'auditors' and advice on what to do to show your business off in the best light.
So what. He (she) is in public and anything that can be seen from a public place, or, a publicly accessible place, can be photographed, or, videod.
Morever, if he is in public, subject to some restrictions, he can take off and land. He can also fly over any property, buildings, or, land.
Sorry, but that is the law.
Yes, there are. Drone pilots can't fly over prisons, or, airports, or, large crowds of people (where they can't disperse, in case it drops from the sky).
Otherwise, if the drone is under 250g, and that is important, then they can fly anywhere as long as it is safe and reasonable to do so.
They do not typically need your permission, as long as they do not take off, or land from ON your premises. Drones can also be flown in restricted areas if permission has been granted to allow this. The drone pilot is under no obligation to share any details with you, at all.
There are however things that need to be in place to fly a drone. The drone needs to have and show an Operator ID. This is the person who the drone is registered to, This does not have to be the pilot. For sub 250g drones, the pilot does not need to have a Flier ID, or, insurance, although many will have both.
You have no right to see, or, inspect his drone, or, ask for his operator ID, or, flier ID, or, even his name, or, address.
A bit of a grey area, but drones can be flown to create content that will be uploaded to social media. That bit is ok. Where the grey area starts is that this can be monetised, but, it remains as non-commercial. This is because the payment comes from the playing of adverts, not from the content itself.
Flying a drone is flying an aircraft, it is just unmaned. It is illegal to interfere with a pilot when operating a drone.
Auditors get paid by placing content on social media and people watching it. When ads pop up, they get paid. So, don't give them any content.
Security are the best people to handle auditors ONLY IF they are properly trained. We offer 3 levels of training specifically for auditors.
The police have little, or no powers IF they on on public land, or, publicly accessible land. UNLESS they are breaking the law.
First of all, train yourself and your staff on the law.
Secondly, make sure all your staff understand the basic steps.
Thirdly, turn it around and benefit from their audience.
